I was inspired by our visit to a local winery and the textures from the lichens on the slick rock to create wine labels for a fictitious winery. The lichens are knocked out of the image and presented in a shiny foil print to attract attention. The goal is to give the wine a sense of place and to root each wine in its terroir. Kayenta and Entrada are each rock layers prominent in the area, and the underlying meanings of the words give further depth with Entrada meaning 'Entrance' or 'Entry', and Kayenta meaning 'belonging to the northern Arizona branch of the Anasazi culture'.
